Greetings fellow traders!

It has been a tough night! Trump's effect whipped out several Democratic bastions, such as Michigan and Wisconsin.

This is an astonishing event in the recent history of politics, particularly, in western world’s politics.

Trump's victory puts in check polls, predictions, probabilities and all the information that has been provided by media broadcasters during this process.

Brexit is not anymore an isolated event in world's recent history. Trump's win represents the rise of Populism in western world.

Trump said that his election would be Brexit ++ ("plus, plus").

Markets have been bouncing over the Asian trading session, however, without an impact like Brexit.

It seems that markets simply don't know how to digest this result. Check the following USDJPY 5-min snapshot chart.

I read an article posted on the New York Review of Books written before these elections by Gary Wills, which shares an interesting quote by Bishop Desmond Tutu:

It is not fanciful to see the Brexit vote, the disruption of the Labour Party, and the rise of
Donald Trump…[as] part of the revulsion across the Western world against elites and
establishments that were so discredited by Iraq.
