Happy Easter everyone!
Since here in Latvia we are enjoying 4 wonderful days off, I am using a so-needed time to refresh my mind and relax to the fullest. Keeping sports aside at this very moment I planned my days throughout, spending time with my family, reading, cooking and simply enjoying little things that make every woman happy, such as beauty procedures.

I have realized that I "burn out" very quickly (see my previous post) so I really, really needed those days off to fully relax and "recharge my batteries".

Giving some time for yourself to relax is not only good mentally and physically, the benefits of "recharging your batteries", as I call it, are numerous:

1. It helps you sleep better
Sleep is not only lots of fun, it also plays a really important role in making sure that we’re functioning our best throughout the day. When we sleep, out brain cells re-generate and that is a crucial process in improving your memory and efficiency overall.

2. It improves your mood
As simple as 2x2: after you relax you are feeling fresh and energized. And when you are on top of your game your mood tends to be way better, too. It's a vicious circle - if you are not relaxed, you are feeling sad, tired and not productive!

3. You’ll be reducing your chance of physical illness in the long run
Being stressed for long periods of time puts lots of stress on our bodies, especially on our hearts. Make it a habit to relax regularly now, and you’ll be doing yourself a favour in the long run.

4. It improves your memory
As I already mentioned, relaxation usually means a better night’s sleep, which in turn does wonders for our memory and our concentration.

5. It helps with stress
When you are relaxed and energized, you tend to smile more and trust yourself more. When you are relaxed you tend to look at the issues you are facing more objectively and are not taken away by your emotions. Cudos to that!



Day 10 accomplished: did 20 minutes of exercises, ate low-calorie meals and read a book. Mental holidays it is!
