One issue has been bothering me for a long time.
It is about how a man/ girl address his opposite sex friend
And what does different terms of endearment means
Does it imply anything special if a guy call you: Honey, darling, babe, sweet heart, love and so forth?
Is there any differences among each terms?

Why I am asking this stupid question is because in HK or Asian, we don’t use these kind of terms of endearment.
I heard and was addressed by someone only in the UK.
I remember once upon a time, I had a big crush on an Italian guy.
I felt super happy when he texted me starting with honey.
But my friend told me it is nothing special, it is just the chatting style of European.

Seems it is right, in the Northern part of England, people address everyone as “love”.
And now I always address people as “dear”. It is no big deal right?
But I met a French in the community, he said don’t address him as “dear” not until he is in love with me lol.

Dear, how would you call your friend? Your lover? And your special someone?
