Have you ever been in a state when you feel yourself unfocused and restless because of lots of thoughts and ideas on your mind? That is the state I used to be in all the time earlier in my life and that is what I call mental clutter. I had lots of ideas I wanted to implement but I couldn’t focus on any of them. I had lots of thoughts about my past, the mistakes I had made and the opportunities I missed. And all this mental clutter was holding me from making decisions on how to move forward.

After decluttering my physical environment I felt some freedom and space around myself so I decided that it’s time for decluttering my mind. First, I realized how senseless it is to allow your mind stay attached to the past instead of enjoying the present life, planning the future, setting goals and achieving them. Then, I just started to reevaluate each embarrassing and demotivating situation of the past as a lesson to learn from. I also found that forgiving yourself and others is the best thing that may help releasing all the negative emotional baggage packed up with fears and unpleasant memories.

It is not easy to declutter your mind and emotions but without it you just can’t live a happier and more successful life as all that clutter will not let you see and take the opportunities and will prevent you from achieving your goals.
