Personally for me books play a vital role in my life as it is a source of the greatest inspiration , which is extremely important for an artist. It also gives me an opportunity to develop better imagination and creativity.
In general i mostly prefer philosophical books like Kafka and Nietzche. But once i saw a book on the shelf in the store called "Shantaram" which directly caught my eye. I decided to buy and read it.
This book describes the India inside. The plot of the book is that criminal named Shantaram came to India to escape and to start a new life. The beginning of the book shows perfectly how strongly he was shocked by the social stratification there.
In the beginning he had enough money to have a decent life buy after a certain period of time he was in the poorest area and he had to survive there. He met few friends and his love.
Then he was involved in working with mafia.
I couldn't stop reading this book, the way the author writes and describes the love and friendship among people is so realistic. I can be brave enough to say that this is the best novel of 21st century and everybody is obliged to read it. When you finish the book it gives you a lot of food for thought and you start to appreciate life and what you have much more !
