Netflix is my middle name! At least that's what it should have been, if I had one))) No, seriously! Visual storytelling is my profession, so when I spend a lot (A LOT!) of my time watching cinema&television productions, I am actually working, learning and being ultimately useful... or so I tell myself. I have to stay au courant of the entertainment industry because it's my livelihood. Plus, I simply love it! All right, my top TV series picks are below:
1. Gossip Girl. First of all, New York City, Manhattan's Upper East Side. Second of all, Blair Waldorf. My friends think that I look like her, I think I am like her. Apart from the cityscapes and my striking resemblance to Leighton Meester, I enjoyed the show's humor and music. XOXO
2. Stranger Things. Everyone's new favorite obsession! Mine too! I voted for the show in every category it was nominated for during the past awards season, I've been to the screening and I am literally counting the days till season 2! Love letter to the 80s!
3. Ozark. Intelligent plot, chilling suspense, impeccable acting + perfect color correction (my favorite kind in fact). Jason Bateman is as organic in drama as he is in comedy and he even directed some of the episodes! Talent... ...and it really shows in every little thing!
4. The Office. Gentle yet honest... cute but simple... while very very very funny. Everyone there became my friend and family (even Dwight), I didn't want it to be over. Warm and sweet. And funny!
5. Game of Thrones. Need I say more? I will anyway. A richly imagined world with thoroughly thought through characters, invented languages, itemized maps, mind-blowing storyline and... dragons!!! Each episode's budget is millions of dollars, the scale is insane! All 7 seasons of the TV series are based on George R.R. Martin's book series, with the two final volumes still being written. That means anyone can end up on the Iron Throne...
6. Big Little Lies. California. Women. Secrets. Oh, and all-star cast, amazing score, clever directing, important message. A masterpiece.
7. Downton Abbey. Charming charm only the British are capable of) Everything about that starched household was so very English that I couldn't help falling in love with all of them. Spoiler alert! Sybil's untimely demise truly broke my heart, however, the major happy ending that concluded the series finale was straight out of fairytale wonderful!
...this is getting endless... somebody, please stop me before I get carried away and keep talking about it forever... because, you know, I have a long list of binge-worthy content waiting for me... and I can't wait to watch more awesome stories!
