1. What's your general experience with the contest? Did you find it interesting, difficult or easy?
It was definitely very unusual to me and I found some tasks very inspiring on the things that I always
wanted to make but couldn't make due to my laziness or lack of time (I guess
more laziness since I did them all for Miss Dukascopy tasks)
So it was definitely interesting, not always difficult but also not easy. I think it was a good
balance in the tasks regards the creativity, artistic skills and some
day-to-day life experience reviews; however some deadlines were quite tight.
I’m glad that by the end of the contest everything finally was developed on the high level – the website
by itself and idea. Thanks everyone involved, it was a great adventure for me!
And the prize fund is really impressive, so great job with sponsors!!!
2. What should be improved in the Miss Dukascopy 2013 contest? What features would you like
added? What should be removed or simplified? Have any other ideas?
I’ll be more honest with you guys and note everything important in my opinion. I hope my constructive
critics will work for good in your future contests/experience.
The main idea is that the technical side of website and total structure/strategy of participation should
be improved.
1. It feels like the idea of the contest was actually developed only by the middle of the contest when you updated the website, put Like buttons under each post to be shown in the blog, not just by entering each post individually which was very painful for all the supporters.
2. Blog posts formatting and option to insert pictures started to work properly only after a couple of months from contest
start, which badly affected the appearance of the blogs and my patience in blogging
3. There is still no option to answer to someone’s comment so this person receives a notification about your answer which I think
is vital for communication and popularity of the blog. If I left comment in someone else’s blog I have to go manually to the same post to see if person has replied, which won’t happen because you just won’t remember, so the conversation stops here.
4. Registration process for voters shouldn't been so difficult. Understand this was done with quality control purpose, but when people need to do So much just to vote for their friend it’s a bit too crazy.
5. There should be done some new features to engage other Dukascopy users/traders to follow and support participants of Miss
Dukascopy contest. The website is full of people who will like your posts ONLY if you like their posts, so the quality of the blog context doesn't really matter for them. E.g. if I’ll post some rubbish copy/paste text in my blog, but will be voting for thousands of traders in the other contests – I’ll get the highest number of likes in my rubbish blog, because no one really reads it, just likes because I have supported them. Basically this means that participants who don’t have other life than Dukascopy (housewives, unemployed etc.) have
better chances to win just because they can spend 90% of their day liking and getting likes from others. I am sure this is not the actual goal for this contest, right?
6. Would be interesting to have some direct feedback/comments from the sponsors in our blogs, also would be good to have more tasks about the fashion or prize fund related tasks so it has more connection with the contest y itself.
3. Will you participate in the Miss Dukascopy 2014? Why?
I don’t think so I just literally don’t have time for this in a way as it is now, even though it is interesting. I’m doing my career in market research now and want to start my own web-project, so I’ll do my best to win the current contest and will let it go.
Thank you for everything, I hope I gave the good contribution into this contest!
