Nihad avatar
Nihad 13 Jan.

ForexSpeaker Glad so you find it. On TOS you can only ThinkScript, the language on TOS. ThinkScript has one pro and one. The pro is the its very very easy to learn, there I used it to create on the spot indicators (its called Studies on TOS) and  entry and exit signals (strategies). The con is you can use recursion (historical candles) only in the backtesting mode, you cannot deploy a strategy that uses recursion in LIVE mode.

ForexSpeaker Therefore, I only get the Pro of it by visualizing my trading logic, and then collect the pieces of logic on another.  Hope this answers your question

ForexSpeaker Am glad you are. My strategy is only possible with Genetics and Event-driven (functional)  programming, Genetics can be deployed on Java using JGAP, while Functional programming can be used in JAVA 8 Lambda expressions. This makes JAVA my ultimate choice, Dukascopy platforms are based on JAVA frameworks and they are on my top-10 tier 2 brokers, making them the ultimate choice for my algorithm trading, the reason am here in the first place.

From Miss Dukascopy to Forex Articles: Glitches or Interests?

When I first joined this community, after a couple of weeks a friend came and told me that there is something about these contests. I replied: Dukascopy is one of the fewest that plays fair in the World's largest casino. A week ago, I discovered we were talking from two different perspectives. I was referring to the entire organization while she was referring to the operational or shop floor level, particularly some in the contest administration. Four days ago, I believe she was right in …

pipx Having one article or 100, your score to now can't exceed 200 as per their rules, they wanna change it,. fine, at the end of this month and not during it. Huh?

@pipx The rules mentions 100 users participating and not 100 approved because if so, the bar of this competition will never be raised as they can only approve and select out of the pool. The RULES mention nothing about submissions it all bound to number of registered contestants and not APPROVED ones. Thanks for your time Pipx

I understand it is not personal and also acknowledge the hard work that goes into creating articles :-) I got these from the rules.

"If the total number of active registrations (number of Participants that have posted at least one article) within each Contest period does not reach 100, the Prizes are calculated using proportions method. E.g. if there are 50 active contestants, the Prizes to be paid amount to 50% of the nominal."

Also,

"Dukascopy reserves the right to change the Contest rules, requirements and awards without prior notice and at any time at its sole discretion."

I think this is a bug and if they cannot fix it, they will have to result to quality and expert evaluation. They said that those two are the most important. Take a look at January's endnote.

Thank you for posting this, I wasn't aware until I saw your post.

Not sure I understand this completely. It seems in your post that you are blaming Dukascopy for a combination of software bugs and changing the rules haphazardly (basically for all-around incompetence). But then in the end you say that you won't let the efforts of the community and Dukascopy's money be stolen by some individuals. Are you implying that some contestants are cheating? How?
