Vamps Halloween party

L'arc en ciel and Vamps are Japanese rock bands. They both have the same lead singer. His nname is Hyde.
They started having halloween parties maybe 3 years ago and this year is the most elaborate. One reporter took pics of people in their costumes outside of the venue.
The makeup is super impressive. Halloween is getting bigger and bigger in Tokyo. What are you doing for halloween?
In general, I've found Japanese people to be very open minded, not only in fashion or makeup.
To see more, here is…

Shibuya Halloween street party.

It's that time again. Shibuya is a district in Tokyo where all the gyaru hang out and it's also my favourite part of Tokyo. Amazing place to shop or just waste time.
Their Halloween street party is on at the moment and also tomorrow.
Here are some pictures.
I love this one.
If you are interested in more pics. Here is a good link and a good site that I frequent. http://tokyofashion.com/halloween-in-japan-shibuya-costumes/

Must eat in Tokyo... for Science! (part 3)

This time I'm gonna tell you about a traditional Japanese dessert, or snack.
Especially, when its cold out, you can find food stands or small hole in the wall places selling and making fresh taiyaki.
It made with a batter, kind of like waffles that is formed into fish shapes and sometimes other shapes. It's made in a waffle iron type machine. It's packed, or really full of a filling.
You can choose the filling. The traditional ones are sweet red bean paste or white bean paste but you can also ge…

Kawaii trends and Tokyo Work and Life (pics, video)

Recently my blog posts have been really quirky. Probably most traders aren't like me, but there are a lot of cute and trendy girls here too so who knows. Even if you aren't into fashion or Kawaii style, it might be interesting to see what's going on and what Young people are into these days.
I live in Italy where fashion trends are a lot more conservative and classical. In Tokyo, more than in L.A or any other place I've been to, there are no rules and anything goes. You can be whoever you want a…

Must eat in Tokyo... for Science! (part 2)

Another thing that's great is Monjayaki. It's kinda like Okonomiyaki but with less batter and more stuff. "What stuff?" all kinds of stuff. could be meat, seafood, cheese, vegetables, anything you choose.
Batter, water, egg, and lots of stuff to make a gooey mess that tastes awesome and you eat hot formt he pan. Great in winter especially. The cheesier, the better for your mouth.
If you want something cool go for the Matcha frapucino. I love matcha, which is a type of green tea. The Starbucks ma…

Must eat in Tokyo...For Science! (part 1)

This is my list of things you should eat in Tokyo. You don't have to eat them all in the same day... but you can try... FOR SCIENCE!
My Favourite food is.... Yakiniku! It's actually Korean BBQ but has been Japanized. So it's not really the same. You order meat, grill it, dip it i a sauce, there are a few kinds, and put it in your mouth. Best BBQ ever! Don't forget the rice and kimchi.
The other Thing I like to eat... is obvious... It's awesome...it's the best in the world...it's found all over …

Super toast!

Thsi is toast in Japan and Korea, I think in Taiwan too. When you order toast, you're ordering half a loaf of bread. You can get many kinds of toppings, savoury or sweet. Including ice-cream, ceam, fruit, jam, tuna, lettuce, ham, etc., There's a lot to choose from. They are cheap and very filling but also high in calories. These pics were taken in Tokyo.

More crepes

They are quite big and so not really a dessert but a meal. They have savory ones too. With vegetalbles and tuna. I liked the tuna salad ones.
Again, there are a few pictures here.
Many kinds of crepes and soft cream is what they call soft serve ice cream.

More on Harajuku

There are many pictures here to see.
Here is Meiji Jingu or Meigi shrine. It's the temple that you should definitely see when visiting Tokyo. The one in Akasaka is nice too and a good place to buy traditional Japanese things. Meiji jingu is really beautiful and usually quiet and has some gardens around it.
Here is Harajuku station.
After exiting you should see this gate to Takeshita dori where a lot of yooung girls like to shop. All the crepe shops and Harajuku fashion shops are here.
