USDCAD PRICE FORECAST FOR 2ND JANUARY 2014

Since July 2014 USDCAD pushed higher around 800 pips and November month closed above two important decision points. In December I am expecting continuation of bullish trend and price could reach 1.1700 level where some retracement could happen towards 1.1550 level.

UPDATE 1: As predicted since start of December USDCAD continued to push higher and the pair found resistance around 1.1675. Since then price is consolidating in 125 pips range between 1.1675 and 1.1550. Should the price break out of support at 1.1550 the next level to look for long opportunities would be at 1.1500 and on the up side 1.1700 should provide short opportunities.

UPDATE 2: This week closing price was 1.1621, which is about 71 pips above my predicted target of 1.1550. I still favor bearish price action on this pair in next few days towards an important psychological level and round number 1.1500. To be precise 1.1470 is broken Weekly resistance which should act as support on the retest.

UPDATE 3: Finally we saw some selling interest at H1 supply zone around 1.1650 and price dropped 55 pips. This down move also confirm a wedge breakout pattern to the downside, so I am expecting continuation of bearish price action on USDCAD in coming days. Current closing price is 1.1610 which is about 60 pips above my predicted target of 1.1550.

Update 1: As expected 1.0650 demand zone held and price found lot of buying interest in this zone and price is currently about 180 pips up from this July low. Price is almost at my target at present.

Update 1: We saw a false breakout of daily demand zone at 1.0875 to 1.0850 and price instantly reversed and weekly closing price is 1.0896, which is well above daily demand zone. The daily supply at 1.0940 should hold if sellers are in control and intend to take price down.

Update 2: As expected the 1.0940 daily supply level held and price dropped down about 105 pips into daily support level. Price is currently about 25 pips above my target.

Update: Monthly resistance of 1.0665 broke quite strongly and price currently held just under 1.10 level. No signs of sellers and next resistance is 1.11 so chances are price going further away from my target next week.

Update: Weekly resistance at 1.0650 holding for now as we have seen a fake out of this resistance on daily charts. Price is expecting to range between 1.0550 and 1.0700 this week.

Update 2: Price breached resistance and went up to 1.0735 where we have seen some selling interest. Expecting range bound price action in next couple of weeks as such price should close pretty close to 1.0700 level by year end.

Update 3: As predicted price went down from 1.0735 level to 1.0580 and closed the week again at 1.0705 viz. 5 pips above my target. With holiday shortened next week, expecting range bound price action.
