Personally I really enjoy trading. I might be the only person in the world that will never say TGIF, because I'm not thankful that it is Friday, after all the markets are closed!

On the weekend, I look forward to reviewing my charts and refining my long term outlook on the currency pairs.

Am I the only one that feels this way about FX? Please comment below and let me know how you feel.

Bored Boxer - Is this what you look like when you're trading??

So why the title? I recently spoke to a trader that said to me that trading should be boring

The reasoning behind it is that, once you've developed your system, all you should really be doing is checking your chart for a trade setup. Let me give you an example. Let's say your system is to buy a test of the 200 Daily moving average. Then every day you start your day reviewing all the pairs to see which ones are closest to the moving average and then monitoring those chart throughout your trading session. You will probably check the economic calendar to see if any news events will have an effect on the pairs you monitoring for you setup, and a few other regular habits become a part of your day.

The next day, you start your day, and you do the exact same thing! And of course the following day, and following etc.

The trades you take no longer affect you. If you have a win, you know the next one can loose and will negate that trade. If you have a loss, you know the next one can make it up. You know what to expect in your account at the end of the month, and end of the year.

The mystery is removed, and consistency sets in. For some, it can even be a chore at this point. But at least you know you have achieved consistency, and success.

A good example was this week when I was viewing NZDUSD. I wanted to scalp it short. The candlesticks showed indecision and possible reversal, however the Fibonacci levels I look at as part of my system were not in place. It wasn't a great setup, but I did not have much exposure and was getting a bit bored. At this point I realized, everything is exactly as it should be and left the trade alone

It was a very interesting bit of information pointed out by my colleague. I agree with his thoughts. I have always thought that emotions need to be under control, and you cannot get too excited or upset about your trades. I hope this was as interesting for you as it's been for me. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
