I would like to write this post not for being aggressive or not grateful to Dukascopy.
Honestly Dukascopy give us a great opportunity to learn the trading and to get the prize, ( a sort of job for someone) . So I thank for that all the staff and the dukascopy program.
I would like to write to learn where I wrong.
In the MAY 2016 Strategy Contest my strategy has been disqualified.
With disappointing (6000 $ it is not so few money, expecially for who consider this as a job) I ask to the Dukascopy team the reason of the disqualification, their answer is
Greetings.
The strategy was violating Programming Rules 3. a. and was disqualified.
The strategy algorithm has to be symmetrical for opening long and short positions.
Kind regards, Support Team.
So my strategy is asymmetric, well I really do not understand this argument.
The strategy you could find at
https://www.dukascopy.com/strategycontest/?action=blog&trader=foreignexchange&month=201605
I built the strategy to be a symmetric strategy so I probably did not understand where is the mistake.
The blocks are the same for buy and sell.
The only difference I could see, is in the value of the oscillator (ADX) that for buy assume a value and for sell another value. But this is quite obvious for most of the trader.
Sell market and buy market tendency have their own iper-sell or iper buy range where to filter the trade.
To support my arguments it is possible to compare my strategy with the other participant strategies.
Most of that (maybe all) have different numerical value for the filter, this is the obvious conditional sense of filtering a strategy.
So I would like to ask to the trader community if someone could find the asymmetry of the strategy because I did not take the 6000 $ prize and to try to improve my trader efficiency.
And if you could just comment with your opinion if for you is SYMMETRIC or ASYMMETRIC.
And if you think that is asymmetric you could be very kind to explain the reason.
This post is created not only for me but also for all the person that are interested in the strategy contest or would like to learn how to built a symmetrical strategy.
Thanks, foreignexchange
