Hello Traders,
How many times have you heard this question. What is Technical Analysis? Well technical analysis is a method of evaluating securities by analyzing statistics generated by market activity, such as past prices and volume. Technical analysts do not attempt to measure a security's intrinsic value, but instead use charts and other tools to identify patterns that can suggest future activity. Ok what is this definition really saying? In plain English it is saying, the most important element to technical analysis is price movement.
There are other elements that catch my attention such as earnings and the news, but in my opinion that is all factored and will show up in the price. So with that said lets look at a chart. (See above)
NVIDIA Corporation
Bias: Bullish
The reason I am bullish is because the 200 SMA is holding strong at $17.50 and price is moving back above the 20/50 SMA cross. Even though the 20/50 SMA is crossing to the downside, which is a bearish short term signal, it seems as if the longer term bullish trend of pricing being above the 200 SMA is still the trend to follow. I am looking at a $20 dollar target with an extension to $25 in the near future.
