I want to tell you little bit about Greece, what you should remember and keep in mind as a tourist
I want to say that Im not talking about whole Greece(only Rhodes, I live here for 3 month).
So I want to warn you about many things, I listed everything good and some warnings.

Okey, let's start:
  • Another name of the Greece is ELLADA (in greek language)
  • No chance to have FAST internet.
here internet connection is really bAD! It can disconnect many times a day.
So, forget about working in internet you newer know..
So just relax and have a sun bath.
  • Don't smell ..flowers, it may look very beautiful, BUT if you don't know what flower is it - don't Smell (because it can be allergic, and couse many problems).
  • If you planning to celebrate some "Weddings" in Greece, please be familiar with Hotel owners and talk with them about all the details.
Because from my experience which we had many days ago.. there is cultural differenties and even luxerus hotel can not alow all you wanted to have in your celebration. (so speak more)
  • Learn some Greek words This is nice to know a little greek language.
-Because some Russians speak only russian with greeks... even don't understand english.
So this is polite to knew some words.

So this is enough to know

  • Greece is Orthodox country, there lot of churches.
  • Don't ride scooter without hamlet (you can be catch by police and pay 300euros)
  • If you want to rent a car (and pay a good price not overpay, you should walk a little from your hotel, there will be another "rent a car" with normal price, next to hotels is always expensive)
  • If in old town and someone gives you to make photo with a perrots or hold them. You should see what is the person, and better not to take. because he will ask you to pay, or go and buy something in next caffee.
But at first time, they say it for free. Sometimes they can be rude, sometimes nice. Depends on the person.

  • There many many cats, and their hungry and eat everything, even bread. Greeks don't like cats, sometimes even hurt them.
so this cats survive only in garbage and by tourists. (This problem also made me to make a research, and i want to help them, to write EU project for sterilization of street cats, and volunteers for animal shelters)

  • There is no homeless people in Rhodes, only gypsy. Who live in park(in the backyard of castle) %) that was not expected to see.
They live there, drying clothes on the trees.

  • -You can drink water from the.. it clean.
  • Better to buy sun protection +50 +40 (if you go at summer)
  • in Aegean sea, better not to swim at night! because vawes are so high and can cause accident
  • in Mediterranean sea, its okey, vawes are quite
  • you should try Frappe and greek coffee, also Dolmades
  • and ofcourse you will hear Sertaki playing everywhere
  • Always funny to read a Menu (in russian,german) created by " google translation"
