In Lithuania we have a lot of national dishes because they are made by Lithuanian love. We wanted to be different from others and make something what we like. So I will talk about 2 dishes: smashed potatoes with meat inside and cold pink soup fromÿbeet with hot potatoes.
"Cepelinai" are one of Lithuania's national dishes. It is made from smashed potatoes and stuffed with meat. Why it's called "cepelinai"? Their form is very similar with zeppelins. We boil them in hot water and serve with sour cream and cracklings.
The pink soup is named "Šaltibarščiai". Why they are named like this? "Šaltas" means COLD and "barščiai" doesnt mena BEET but if you would write in google "barsciai" you would understand
ÿ To make this soup is really easy,but you need boiled beet soup, sour cream, fat free yogurt but we call it "kefyras", green onion hair, eggs, cucumber and boiled hot potatoes ÿNow you are ready to eat it :} SKANAUS!!
