Any increase in the index will be bullish for the EUR since Germany is the Eurozone's biggest economy. The index fell by 1.8 points from a month earlier to 95.7 in July 2019 and expectations are that it will rebound to 97.1 in August. However i expect the index to fall below market expectations. Bearish reaction anticipated.

Therefore an increase in durable goods will be bullish for the economy and the dollar. Durable goods orders jumped 2 percent from a month earlier in June 2019. The market expects a 1 percent increment in the orders and anything higher will lead to a stronger dollar. Bullish reaction anticipated.

The preliminary estimates showed that Germany's gross domestic product contracted by 0.1 percent in the second quarter of 2019. The slump in GDP was attributed to the negative net external demand. The decline is likely to be confirmed at the final announcement. A decline in GDP will likely mean that the EUR will be weaker since Germany is Euro zone's biggest economy. Bearish reaction expected.
